A few weeks ago, Fortune announced that the Business Person of the Year for 2018 was Jensen Huang, the founder and CEO of NVIDIA: we would like to extend him our warmest congratulations! You can read the whole interview with Jensen Huang on Fortune’s website.
With NVIDIA’s focus on artificial intelligence, it is normal that the company keeps track of the exciting work that startups are accomplishing in the domain. That includes wrnch’s bodySLAM, is a body-tracking software that uses artificial intelligence and deep learning to track and process human motion in real time.
On October 10, 2017 in Munich for NVIDIA GTC conference, an AI and deep learning event for GPU developers offering training and a showcase of the most vital work in the computing industry, Jensen Huang delivered a keynote speech and commented about wrnch’s work.
“Pose is (…) how you are positioned in 3D space. If you were to look at a video, you could probably infer what the pose of that character in 3D space is. However, how do you teach an artificial intelligence network to do that? How do you write software to look at a bunch of 1s and 0s in a video and recognize where the person is and what that person’s 3D dimensional pose is? (…) If we were able to do that, we could recreate the character in the 3D world looking at the video.”
“wrnch is doing amazing job in pose estimation.”
